What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience.

How we use cookies

Halo Benefits uses cookies on halobenefits.co.uk and app.halobenefits.co.uk for the following purposes. These tools run when you use the site; you can block or delete their cookies at any time through your browser settings (see “Managing cookies” below).

Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website and platform to function. They enable core features like authentication, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.

Similar technologies

Some of our tools use your browser’s local storage instead of (or as well as) cookies: PostHog stores analytics state, Statsig stores feature-flag settings that control which version of a feature you see, and your cookie-banner choice is kept there too. Local storage is cleared the same way as cookies, through your browser settings.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, though this may affect the functionality of the website. Here are links to cookie settings for common browsers:

  • Chrome — Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
  • Firefox — Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari — Preferences > Privacy
  • Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages — for example the map on our nursery directory (Google Maps), or the secure Stripe page employers use to set up Direct Debit. We do not control these cookies. Please refer to the relevant third party’s privacy policy for more information about their cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
