Pulteneytown People’s Project, known locally as ‘the PPP’ or the Pulteney Centre, was originally started by the local community in 2003 with the aim of creating opportunities to improve life chances, quality of life and economic well-being in the area. An important driver was providing support and services by the community, for the community. It is one of the largest social enterprises in the Highlands wth the Centre itself opening in 2012 and contributes to the local economy in both financial and wellbeing terms. Focussed around the Pulteney Centre as a community hub, it is thriving and offers employability services, welfare rights, housing support and childcare services, as well as a community café, social groups such as art classes, bingo, pensioners lunch club, knit and natter and men’s shed, in addition to multi-purpose rooms and spaces for hire. All profits are ploughed into services that matter to the community itself. The charity is a charitable company limited by guarantee. It is registered as a Scottish charity. The company is governed by its memorandum and articles of association. The PPP is a social enterprise and all profits go back into the community and the facility. We operate as a business and by supporting our business you are also supporting the community we serve. We strive to provide a high class service to everyone who comes to the centre and we greatly appreciate the continued support we receive from the community, businesses and agencies.
