How Halo Pay works.
Your employer helps you pay nursery fees from pre-tax salary through Halo Pay. A typical family saves in the region of £3,000 to £8,000 a year, depending on circumstances.

You sign up
Tell us about yourself, your employer, and your nursery. It takes a couple of minutes. If your employer is already a Halo partner, you're ready to go.
We talk to your employer
If your employer isn't on Halo yet, we'll approach them and explain how it works. Most employers say yes — it's cost-neutral to run and their team loves it.
We onboard your nursery
Same for your nursery. If they're not already in the Halo network, we'll get them set up. Most nurseries are onboarded within a few days.
You set your contribution
Choose how much you'd like to put towards nursery fees through Halo Pay. Halo automatically checks you won't fall below the National Minimum Wage.
You start saving
Your employer adjusts payroll, your nursery gets paid, and you keep more of what you earn. It happens automatically each month.
The saving
Where the saving comes from.
When you pay nursery fees through Halo Pay, they come out of your pay before tax — so your taxable pay is lower and the saving lands on your payslip from the first month the arrangement is active.

Halo is built around the workplace nursery exemption (Section 318 ITEPA 2003), which lets an employer support nursery costs tax-efficiently — provided the employer is involved in both financing and managing the provision.
